Erica Mantone doesn't want your flowers. She'd rather have some bourbon. So when I had to reimagine a cover for her debut EP—a concept developed at the very beginning of the pandemic—I subtly corrupted elements of an exotic bouquet, suggesting an edge of dread in a seemingly romantic gesture.
